ARC Guidelines

 

Welcome to my ARC review guidelines! If you’re interested in submitting a book for review, please take a moment to read through my preferences and policies to ensure we’re a good fit. I love discovering new books and supporting authors, but I also want to make sure I can provide the best feedback possible.  

Genres I Enjoy & Will Consider for Review: 

I read widely across genres, but my primary interests include:  

  • Romance – All subgenres, including historical, urban, dark, and fantasy romance.  
  • Urban Fiction – I love stories with rich, gritty narratives and compelling characters.  
  • Contemporary – Character driven, emotional, and engaging modern stories.
  • Fantasy & Urban Fantasy – Whether it’s high fantasy, magical realism, or supernatural elements, I’m here for it.  
  • Paranormal Fiction & Paranormal Romance – Give me supernatural love stories, ghosts, shifters, vampires, and more!
  • Thriller & Mystery – I enjoy fast paced plots, suspenseful twists, and strong character development.  
  • Drama & Urban Drama – Stories with depth, emotion, and powerful storytelling are always welcome.  
  • Science Fiction – I’m open to sci-fi elements that are character driven and thought provoking.  
  • Young Adult – As long as it aligns with my interests, I enjoy YA in multiple subgenres.  
  • Poetry – I love poetic works that explore emotions, culture, and personal experiences.  
  • Memoirs (Audiobook Only) – If your memoir is available in audio format, I’d be happy to consider it.  
  • True Crime (Maybe) – This is on a case by case basis; I prefer well researched and engaging narratives.  

If you don’t see your genre listed, feel free to reach out. I have a broad reading taste and may still be interested in your book.

Genres I Do Not Accept:

Please note that I do not accept the following genres for review:  

  • Horror – I don’t enjoy books that are centered around excessive gore or supernatural horror.  
  • Religious Fiction or Non-Fiction – I prefer not to review books with heavy religious themes or agendas.  
  • Self Help – I do typically read personal development or motivational books however I am not accepting ARCs for this genre.
  • Biography & Autobiography – While I enjoy memoirs in audiobook form, I do not review traditional biographies or autobiographies.  

If you don’t see your genre listed, feel free to reach out. I have a broad reading taste and may still be interested in your book.

Accepted Book Formats: 

I accept the following formats for ARC reviews:  

  • Physical copies – Physical copies are my favorite! 
  • E-books – Preferred formats: EPUB, PDF, or Kindle compatible files.  
  • Audiobooks – Only for memoirs.   

Turnaround Time & Review Schedule:  

  • I aim to review ARCs within 30 days of receiving them.  
  • If I need more time, I will communicate accordingly.  

Where My Reviews Will Be Posted: 

I post my reviews on multiple platforms to help increase book visibility:  

  • My Blog – Full length reviews with in depth thoughts.  
  • Goodreads – Star ratings and a condensed review.  
  • Instagram – Bookstagram posts, reels, or stories featuring the book.  
  • Amazon – Only if requested (subject to Amazon’s review policies).  

My Review Style & Honesty Policy:  

  • I pride myself on writing honest, thoughtful, and constructive reviews.  
  • My reviews will always reflect my true thoughts, whether positive or critical.  
  • If I DNF (Did Not Finish) a book I will not post a public review out of respect for the author’s work and with the understanding that not every book will be a perfect fit for me. However, I will provide my honest feedback directly to the author or publishing company.  

How to Submit a Review Request:  

If you’d like me to review your book, please click the contact tab and fill out the contact form with the following information:  

  • Book Title  
  • Synopsis (A brief but compelling summary of the book)  
  • Genre (Ensure it aligns with my reading preferences)  
  • Format (Hardcover, paperback, e-book, or audiobook for memoirs)  
  • Release Date (Let me know the deadline for the review)  

If I’m interested, I will respond within 24-48 hours to confirm.  

Other Important Notes:  

  • I prioritize books with diverse representation and unique storytelling.  
  • Your book may be featured in Bookstagram posts, reels, or reading updates as I progress.  
  • I reserve the right to decline requests that do not align with my interests or fit my schedule.  
  • If you do not receive a response within 48 hours, I may not be interested at this time.
